2011 PARISH COUNCIL MEMBERS
Today we would like to Congratulate the newly elected 2011 officers of the Parish Council: Nicholas Bazoukas, President, Christina Andrianopoulos, Vice President, Georgios Tsikalis, Treasurer, Andrew Giourelis, Secretary and the rest of the Parish Council Members. Dean Alexandrou, Sideris Angelou, Michael Dionis, Christos Economou, Demitrios "Jim" Economou, Aris Felis, Michael Klezaras, Alexander Poly, Elizabeth Stefos, Joan Theodoropoulos, and Vasilios Vasiliadis.

PHILOPTOCHOS NEWS
The Saint Spyridon Philoptochos Society Annual Vasilopita for St. Basil Academy will not take place this year due to the Renovations of the Cotsidas Auditorium. The Ladies of the Philoptochos Society will be passing a tray for St. Basil Academy on January 30th. Philoptochos Bake Sale will take place on Sunday, February 6th following Divine Liturgy.


FAMILY CENTER NEWS

We have been enjoying coffee hour in our new Founder’s Court each Sunday. We would like to extend an invitation to have informative receptions so that we can answer questions about our Family Center, the construction, progress and next steps. We are also asking that you make your pledge now and talk to everyone you know to make or augment their pledge. We also have naming right opportunities. This is EVERYONE’s Family Center and we all should contribute to ensure construction continues resulting in completion of the Family Center as we have envisioned.

STEWARDSHIP NEWS
Please be on the lookout for your 2011 Stewardship Commitment and Information Card coming in the mail soon. It gives you an overview of our Stewardship Program and the opportunity to help with many of our Cathedral's ministries. And plan on attending services on February 6th as we celebrate Stewardship Sunday. Thank you for you continued support of time, talent, and treasure!


FLOWER DONATION OPPORTUNITY
Did you know that you can make a donation for the Altar Flowers ordered each week? This can be for the acknowledgement of your Name Day, in memory of a loved one, in honor of someone's birthday or birth of a new child, or JUST BECAUSE. Arrangements can be made by calling Alexandra in the Cathedral's Administrative Office. Each donation will be GREATLY appreciated and acknowledged in the Weekly Bulletin.

 

 

 

LITTLE ANGELS
The Little Angels playgroup will meet every Wednesday from 10:30 am-12:30 pm.

GOYA
GOYA will meet every Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the Tonna Room.

HOPE
Start the new year by getting closer to our church -- take your children to HOPE. HOPE is a youth ministry for kids in kindergarten to Grade 3 that educates them about our religion while building church friendships. We meet once a month for a lesson from Father Greg, a fun craft and a tasty treat. The next meeting is Monday, January 24 from 4-5:30 in the Founders Court. Siblings are welcome. HOLY TRINITY NEWS
Holy Trinity Hospice & the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence at 1183 Main Street, Worcester, are seeking volunteers for patients at home, in nursing facilities and the hospice residence.Opportunities include direct patient and family interaction, clerical work, cooking and day to day tasks. A comprehensive volunteer training will begin in January 2011. For more information contact Abby Witherell at (508) 791-8200 or email abbywitherell@holytrinityhospice.com.
