PRE-SANCTIFIED LITURGIES
Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts will begin at 6:00 pm. Wednesday, March 17th at our Cathedral. The faithful should prepare themselves for Holy Communion in the usual way: prayer, fasting almsgiving and regular confession. There will be a modest 'pot-luck' Lenten meal offered after the Liturgy. People are encouraged to bring something to share with others.

NAME DAY FLOWERS
Angeliki Kambosos sponsored the name day flowers for the whole month of March.

GRECIAN FESTIVAL NEWS
The AGORA - An open air marketplace where merchants kept shops to sell their goods…The Bakery Shop, The Book Shop, The Linen Shop, The periptero, The Religious Shop. We are looking both for donatons and volunteers to assist with the AGORA. Outside vendors are welcome! Space will be rented for the 3-day Festival in the AGORA. GREEK SCHOOL PTA
The Greek School PTA will be selling Easter candles following the Divine Liturgy in the foyer of the Cotsidas Auditorium.

PHILOPTOCHOS NEWS

BOOKSTORE NEWS
Now through Easter the Cathedral bookstore will be featuring Holy Week service books. Please stop over to the bookstore to purchase a copy for yourself, someone who shares your book each year, or a godchild. This is a particularly special collection of prayers and readings for following along at each service from the Bridegroom service to the Agape service on Easter Sunday, the height of the Orthodox calendar. Aside from being an important part of every home's library, it would make a very special gift. Come see the array of books old and new that the bookstore has to sell, and purchase your copy of the Holy Week service book on Sunday following liturgy.

STEWARDSHIP NEWS
You should have received your first quarter Stewardship statement. Please review the details and call the office with any corrections or omissions. Also, please remit your first quarter pledge as soon as possible so that you can remain a member in good standing as we approach Easter and the spring General Assembly. Thank you!

FAMILY CENTER NEWS
As we prepare for the start of the project we seek bids by qualified contractors. We also invite those who have specialty services to be considered to be part of the GC team. Please look in the mail for the invitation to be considered for your specialty contractor services. .



 

 

 

LITTLE ANGELS
The Little Angels playgroup meets every Wednesday from 10:30-12:30pm beneath the Cathedral.

GOYA
The next GOYA meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 23rd at 6:30 pm beneath the Cathedral .

ST. SPYRIDON DANCE GROUP
This week practice will be held on Thursday, March 18th.

HELLENIC ARTS SOCIETY
The Hellenic Arts Society presents BUILD A TEMPLE AND THEY WILL COME on March 21st, a slide presentation and lecture by Professor Blaise Nagy of the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA. Professor Nagy will talk about a mysterious 5th century BCE temple, usually referred to as a Greek temple situated in the ancient town of Segesta in Sicily, Italy. He will explain how its construction may have influenced a major event of the Peloponnesian War. Sicily, along with Southern Italy, was once referred to as Magna Graecia and was colonized by Greek settlers in the 8th century BCE. Lecture and slides at 7:00 pm in the Tonna Reception Room. Reception to follow. Free and open to all.

AHEPA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS Scholarship Applications are available for High School Seniors associate with the Order of AHEPA, Daughters of Penelope, and Maids of Athena who are entering College.
