PHILOPTOCHOS SOCIETY
The Artoclasia today is sponsored by our Society to honor our Patron Saints, Cosmas and Damianos.
In addition, a tray will be passed by our ladies for the benefit of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, its Programs and Charities.
Following Divine Liturgy, you are cordially invited to the Cotsidas Auditorium where the Philoptochos Society will host the Coffee Hour. Again, we wish to thank all of you who support us in our philanthropic efforts.
Our "Brooms" will be on sale again today. You may also submit your membership dues for 2008-2009. Please check to see if your commitments are up to date.
Our next General Meeting will be this coming Tuesday, November 4, at 7:00pm. See you there!
ORTHODOX LIFE SERIES
Fr. Greg will resume his Orthodox Life series each Monday night in November at 7pm.
PARISH COUNCIL ELECTION ANNOUNCEMENT
Elections will be held on Sunday, November 16th following the Divine Liturgy in the Tonna Room, until 2:00 pm that day. The candidates for the 2009, 2010, and 2011 terms of office for the Parich Council are as follows: Katerina Kambosos, Christina Andrianopoulos, Aris Felis, Georgios Tsikalis, Donald Theoharides, Andrew Giourelis, and Theodore "Theo" Vasilescu. We have 7 qualified candidates that are seeking one of the 5 open seats in the Parish Council. The upcoming year is an important year with the construction of our Family Center. We encourage that you all vote on Sunday, November 16th for this important position.
FAMILY CENTER NEWS
The Family Center Committees are working diligently to prepare for a spring 2009 ground breaking. The Capital Campaign Committee will be in touch with everyone in our community to have meetings to review the project and your pledge. We are asking for families to consider a pledge of $3,000 that can be paid over 3-years. This translates to $83 per month, less than your cable bill for some. We also can make giving easy by offering a weekly pledge box at the Pangari where you can put your donation in the box with your name and it will be applied to your total contribution. No donation is too small. We also can arrange monthly, bi-annual and annual payments. The important point is to pledge so that our Family Center is financially supported by the community. For those who have been blessed we look to you to match what our forefathers did to make the Cotsidas Auditorium happen over 50 years ago. There are lso naming right opportunities whereby you can honor your family name or in memory of a loved one. And there is Estate Planning too. Please take the initiative to learn about the Family Center project and how you can be a part of our legacy for now and future generations. God Bless You.
Pledges to date: $2,012,213
