NAME DAY FLOWERS

VETERANS RECOGNITION
Today, the St. Spyridon Cathedral Community will honor all Veterans of war and peace time service. However, this year we will be giving the special honors to the living World War II St. Spyridon Veterans. Our community will honor these veterans who have been invited to be part of this acknowledgement with a Certificate of Appreciation for their service in our military during World War II. We send our deepest appreciation for the service our soldiers and veterans have provided to preserve our liberty. You can meet and greet our Veterans at our Coffee Hour in our new Founder's Court.
FALL GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The Fall General Assembly will take place today following the Divine Liturgy in the Founders Court of the Cotsidas Auditorium.
PHILOPTOCHOS NEWS
The Social Service Committee: Please provide the Ladies Philoptochos Society with names of the elderly in our community who are in nursing homes and other facilities, also those who are sick and housebound with limited family support. We need this information compile our list for our outreach visits in December. Those wishing to make a contribution for this program may contact Maria Stefanakos with their donation. Our Social Services committee is always available to assist ANYONE in need at ay time of the year. Contact can be made through a Board member or the Cathedral Office.
PARISH COUNCIL CANDIDATES
Thank you to the following parishioners who submitted their names as candidates for 2011 Parish Council. Elections are on Sunday, November 21st, immediatley following the Divine Liturgy. The candidates are: Sideris Angelou, Nick Bazoukas, Chris Economou, James Economou, and Elizabeth Stefos.
STEWARDSHIP NEWS
We’ve recently mailed out the Stewardship Reminder letters. Since we’re in the final stages of the merge of accounting systems, there may be some errors. If you notice anything that needs adjusting, please call the Cathedral Office immediately so that we can correct. Our goal is to keep errors at a minimum, and if you don’t let us know, we cannot correct. Thank you for your continued support of out Cathedral!
CHOIR
Our Cathedral Choir is seeking new members, both male and female, ages 16 and up to enhance our Sunday liturgies. Please join the choir in the Church Hall (basement) on Sundays at 9:00 am for rehearsals.

LITTLE ANGELS
The Little Angels playgroup will meet every Wednesday from 10:30 am-12:30 pm.
HOPE
Children in Kindergarten to Grade 3 join Hope Holy Orthodox Primary Education. Hope is a monthly youth ministry at St. Spyridon to help children learn more about our faith and culture while building church friendships. HOPE will meet on Monday, November 22nd from 4-5:30pm. Siblings welcome for information, contact Father Greg or Lynne Tonna at ltonna@att.net.
GOYA
GOYA will not meet this Tuesday. The next meeting is Tuesday, November 23rd.
FAMILY CENTER NEWS
With great pleasure we are notifying everyone that Stage 1, the Founders Court was approved by the inspector for a temporary occupancy permit and will be used going forward. We are also pleased to announce that we will resume Coffee Hour every Sunday following the Divine Liturgy. We will also be holding the General Assembly in the Founder's Court on Sunday, November 14th at 12:30pm. Congratulations to all of us for working diligently and believing our Family Center will become a reality. Special thanks to the Building Committee, donors, and believers for having the vision and having reached another major milestone in our Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Community and bringing us one step closer to our Family Center completion.
HELLENIC ARTS SOCIETY
The Hellenic Arts Society presents a program of delightful music performed by Penelope Bitzas, mezzo-soprano accompanied by Shiela Kibbe on piano. They will present a program of Greek Art Songs from the 19th and 20th centuries along with seasonal favorites. Tatnuck Country Club, December 5th, Performance at 1:00pm, followed by lunch. This is a Members Only event. All members MUST rsvp, either by returning the form in the HAS newsletter or calling Kay Milio at 508-795-1817.
VENERINI ACADEMY Venerini Academy will be hosting an Open House on Wednesday, November 17th from 9-11am. Venerini Academy is a private Catholic elementary school educating students in Grade PreK through Grade 8. We are located at 27 Edward Street, Worcester.
