"Kids Giving to Kids" Sunday School Giving Tree
The Sunday School is collecting gifts for children through its annual giving tree. It is a nice opportunity for the children of the Sunday School, as well as the rest of the parish, to give to children truly in need. The gifts collected will be given to the students of the Hartwell Learning Center. Some of these students will not receive any other gifts than those we collect for them this Christmas.
In addition, gift cards to local supermarkets are welcome (in $10 denominations). These will be given to Fr. Dean & Fr. Greg for our church's Poor & Needy Fund and distribution at their discretion. The children of the Sunday School may feel free to offer up any small monetary donation, toward the purchase of these cards by the Sunday School program.
Please visit our tree in the Cotsidas Auditorium after liturgy on Sundays for details and to select an ornament that will truly make a difference in a child's life.

PHILOPTOCHOS NEWS

The IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities) is offering assistance to victims in areas affected by hurricanes and other natural disasters. The Philoptochos chapters across America are assisting these efforts. There is a great need for aid packages. Please put together a HEALTH KIT and make a difference to one of these victims. In a one-gallon ziplock bag include: one hand towel, one washcloth, one comb, one metal nail file or nail clipper, one bar of soap (bath size), one toothbrush and six Band-aids. Bags may be dropped off at Cathedral. THANK YOU!
PHILOPTOCHOS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd, in the Cotsidas Auditorium at 6:30pm. Non-members and guests are welcome!

FAMILY CENTER NEWS
The Family Center Committees are working diligently to prepare for a spring 2009 ground breaking. The Capital Campaign Committee will be in touch with everyone in our community to have meetings to review the project and your pledge. We are asking for families to consider a pledge of $3,000 that can be paid over 3-years. This translates to $83 per month, less than your cable bill for some. We also can make giving easy by offering a weekly pledge box at the Pangari where you can put your donation in the box with your name and it will be applied to your total contribution. No donation is too small. We also can arrange monthly, bi-annual and annual payments. The important point is to pledge so that our Family Center is financially supported by the community. For those who have been blessed we look to you to match what our forefathers did to make the Cotsidas Auditorium happen over 50 years ago. There are lso naming right opportunities whereby you can honor your family name or in memory of a loved one. And there is Estate Planning too. Please take the initiative to learn about the Family Center project and how you can be a part of our legacy for now and future generations. God Bless You.
Pledges to date: $2,012,213
